様々な背景をお持ちの5名のゲストをお迎えし、有意義な例会となりました。例会ではオーソドックスな3つのセッションである「テーブルトピックス」「準備スピーチ」「論評」を楽しみました。
We welcomed five guests from diverse backgrounds, making the meeting both meaningful and engaging. As usual, we enjoyed the three classic sessions of Toastmasters: Table Topics, Prepared Speeches, and Evaluations.
【テーブルトピックス（即興スピーチ）】
テーブルトピックスは、事前準備なしでその場で与えられたテーマについて1〜2分ほどスピーチする即興スピーチの時間です。新入会員のSさんがイースターに因んだお題をパワーポイントでの画像と共に日本語と英語の双方で提供してくださいました。指名された3名のゲストの方々からユニークなスピーチを披露いただけました。
Table Topics (Impromptu Speeches)
Table Topics is a session where speakers deliver a 1–2 minute impromptu speech on a theme given on the spot, without any prior preparation. Our new member, S, provided Easter-themed topics accompanied by PowerPoint images, presented in both Japanese and English. Three guests were called upon and each delivered a unique and entertaining speech.
【準備スピーチ】
日本語スピーチは「感情が動いた話」とのタイトルで、Oさんから映画の主人公であるパディントンの「礼儀正しさ」「家族愛」「ひたむきさ」に感動した経緯が展開されました。
英語スピーチは”Chicken Little”とのタイトルで、英国の物語を引用し、事実をよく確かめないまま不安や恐怖だけで動くと、自分も周りも混乱させてしまうという戒めをダイナミックなジェスチャーで展開されました。
Prepared Speeches
The Japanese speech, titled “A Story That Moved My Emotions,” was delivered by O. She shared how she was deeply touched by the main character, Paddington’s politeness, love for family, and earnestness in the film.
The English speech, titled “Chicken Little,” drew from a British folktale. Through dynamic gestures, the speaker conveyed the message that acting out of fear or anxiety without verifying the facts can lead to confusion for both oneself and others.
【論評（エバリュエーション）】
日本語スピーチと英語スピーチにつき、それぞれの論評者から良かった点と改善の余地のある点につき丁寧なフィードバックが行われました。
Evaluations
For both the Japanese and English speeches, the evaluators provided thoughtful feedback, highlighting strengths as well as areas for improvement.
